Myron Sharaf, Pursuer of the Emotional Truth
There comes a time in life when we are called to remember those who have affected us deeply, who have been transformative in our development, who have helped us to change the course of our lives, who have been compassionate and supportive on our journey. There will be a gathering to reflect on how Myron Sharaf, Ph.D., a psychologist, therapist, author and gifted teacher was present for us as clients and patients, students and colleagues, friends and family – the man who challenged us, provoked us, who breathed and sighed with us, helping us to stay with the myriad of feelings that arose. Even if Reich is new to you, or you don’t know of Sharaf’s contributions, you will be welcomed to be with us on this day.
On Saturday, September 26th we will gather together to listen to and share stories about our lived experience with Myron and learn from one another the power and import of Myron’s special role in the history and development of the work of Wilhelm Reich. Memories, anecdotes, reflections and observations from then and now will inform our understanding of this remarkable man and how he touched our lives.
New Thought Vermont and the Wilhelm Reich Museum are cooperating together to offer this special day of reflection and remembrance of Myron Sharaf who was a patient and student of Wilhelm Reich and wrote Fury on Earth: A Biography of Wilhelm Reich.
We hope that you’ll join us for this unique event which will feature comments by Myron’s clients, students, colleagues, and friends. And, of course, that includes you – for us to hear what you have to share too! Whether you knew Myron or not, you are welcome to join us and learn how he worked, related and developed Reich’s work!
